Newport Express Holiday Depot is open! Come down and join us for the Holidays with some great Lego builds. On display we have Studsville down from Columbus, Music Hall, the club’s train display, the wearable heads and much more! Check with Newport on the Levee for times and ticket information.
Yes…I know it isn’t even Haloween yet but we’re making plans and getting our city display ready for Christmas. OKILUG will be at the Levee in conjunction with Shillito’s Elves display. If you grew up in Cincinnati years ago, you’ll remember the window displays. It was a tradition for many years (from 1955 to the early 80’s) until the scenes were put into storage and forgotten for 15 years. The scenes have changed hands a few times since then and were in danger of leaving town for good.
These scenes have been restored and will be back on display over the Holidays and we’re proud to be a part of this great local tradition. We’ll be posting more information about dates as get get closer to the Holidays. Until then, keep calm and build on!
IT’S ALMOST TIME!!! The Cincinnati Comic Expo is next weekend. We have some great activities planned for the event and we hope to see you there! We will have a Build Zone, a Scavenger Hunt, Blind Build competition and a Speed Build. CLICK HERE to go to the CCE 2013 web site.
The Kentucky Brick Expo was a huge success this year! We had our best attendance ever (a record actually) and would like to thank everyone that came out to share in our enthusiasm for Lego. Hopefully in the next couple days I’ll be able to get our pictures posted in the photo gallery.
There were displays of all kinds by our talented club members and we had a blast with some new friends from Columbus who make the long trek down to Northern Kentucky with a mind-blowing display called Studsville. (I sure hope we can get them to come back next year!)
Our next showing will be at the Cincinnati Comic Expo at the Duke Energy Convention Center on September 13, 14 and 15. Come out and see us!
With the end of April fast aproaching, our members are busily finishing up our work for the Kentucky Brick Expo at the Boone County fairgrounds on April 27th and 28th. Some outstanding displays and one huge common display that we’ve all contributed to. Trains, mainstreet and lots of stuff to look at! Go to www.kentuckybrickexpo.com to see the advertisement with times. We hope to see you there end of April.

We are transitioning to a new platform to serve up our schedule of events, pictures and whatever else we can come up with. The OKILUG is picking up lots of great new members and builders to add to our crew and it’s a very exciting time for the group.
